Technology has taken center stage in all industries, particularly in the banking and insurance sectors. At KLx, we are helping one of our partners of the Crédit Agricole Group stay ahead of the curve, working on an application that creates a fully digital path for the insurance company’s clients. Beatriz Matafome, Manager & Team Lead for this project, revealed some curiosities about the app and the partnership with this client.

What is the end goal of the application?

The application is the digital space of our partner's clients. It started out by allowing its users to consult their personal data, contracts, and agency information. However, since we started working on it, in 2019, it has been under a major transformation in order to provide clients with a fully digital path. Some of the main digital features that were developed in the past few years include the ability to fill in surveys online, sign contract documents digitally, subscribe new contracts online, report claims online, update banking information for reimbursement or contract payment, and perform contract cancellations online.

Can you reveal some key numbers about it?

The application is available 24/7 and has approximately 370000 users. It is a web-application with a micro-services architecture, with 10 different application blocks and interactions with 15 other partner applications. The application treats clients' data, banking information and other personal information, which obliges it to have maximum availability and confidentiality levels.

What is KLx's scope regarding this application?

KLx counts on 6 people working on this project and we are responsible for the management of the delivery process, development of all application's evolutions and production maintenance. Regarding technologies, we work with Angular and Java with SpringBoot.

How does KLx team collaborate with the partner on this application? How is the daily routine like?

We are able to collaborate extensively with the partner, with a very active role in the decision making process. Because of this, we interact on a daily basis with the client, working hand-in-hand to produce deliveries that fit the partner’s needs accurately. Moreover, every new project is discussed/reviewed/quoted by all the teams that will take active participation on the project. In this sense, KLx team has a continuous relationship with the partner’s DEV teams, Business Analysts, Business stakeholders, Functional and Technical Architects and CISO, allowing us to generate a complete and realistic final version of the requirements.

What is the partner’s feedback on our work?

The relationship with the partner is based on transparency and open communication. Therefore, trust is the keyword of this relationship. In this way, the partner's feedback is fully positive.

What do you personally like most about working on this project?

This project gives me and my team the opportunity to work with some of the most trending technologies of the IT market nowadays. In addition, we have freedom to create and propose technical alternative solutions that are considered and sometimes adopted. Finally, it allows the team to really engage in open debates with our partner, which strongly boosts the sense of belonging of the entire team.
